The atmosphere at the centre is warm, welcoming, and friendly, and the environment is nurturing. Teachers are responsible, enthusiastic and well prepared, offering a stimulating environment and excellent education for tamariki. The centre offers great support beyond early childhood education with an awesome whānau support worker who offers a variety of programmes and other extra support to parents as needed.

Waiapu Kids Merivale Whānau Aroha Centre is a great place for children to grow in their learning before they begin school. The centre also helps parents with food parcels and courses.

Our whānau have been a part of this centre for seven years. The staff have always been so lovely, and we love how caring and attentive they always are towards our children. The centre has so many great things to offer besides childcare. Personal and family development and support have been so educational and beneficial, and are also a great way to encourage whānau and community involvement. The Good Neighbour project that provides food for families weekly is also a huge support and a much needed service. Our whānau is very grateful for it. Thank you for becoming very much a part of our whānau.

No words can express my gratitude for Merivale Whānau Aroha because they always go above and beyond. They have given us food, financial support, family support, clothes and presents at Christmas time, helped us stay warm with wood referrals, taken my son and I to the doctors, and so much more. I’m so thankful that everyone at the centre is in my and my children’s lives.

My child loves it here and there is not much I can see that needs changing. Both of my youngest children have attended this kura and have both loved their experiences here.  Thank you for making my girls feel loved and safe here.
